Requirements
- A research topic related to the world depicted in Black Mirror’s “Nosedive” episode
- MLA formatted in-text citations
- MLA formatted works cited page
- All sources that appear on this page must be included as in-text citations within the essay
- 8 sources minimum – all from SPC library databases or research guide
- At least 5 text-based sources. 3 may be sources like films, news segments, Podcasts, or other.
- At least a few sources that fall on a different or opposing side of your argument
- An arguable, focused claim (thesis statement) that appears early in the essay
- Paragraphs/sections leading with argumentative topic sentences that help narrow and argue the thesis
- No plagiarism: cite all sources that you use. Also avoid over-quoting from sources.
- 6 pages double-spaced minimum (about 1500 words) in Times New Roman (or similar) 12pt font
Essays shorter than required length with receive a grade deduction equivalent to the percent of missing pages/words
