Instruction and Research Assistance

Library Instruction for Fall 2020

Online library instruction is available. Options include embedding a librarian in D2L course, virtual classroom sessions, or video tutorials. Contact the librarians to discuss options and schedule instruction. 

Research/Reference Assistance 

Research assistance will continue remotely. Students, staff, and faculty can access reference assistance via chat, email or make a virtual appointment (by email).

Reference Chat

The library chat system is available 24/7. It is monitored by librarians through a consortium of participating libraries including most MinnState schools. It can be found on the library main page and library research guides. 

Textbooks & Reserves

Temporary availability of Open Electronic Textbooks

Several publishers are offering temporary free access to eBook versions of textbooks. Check if your textbook is included: 

Pearson
Pearson is offering free online versions of their textbooks. See the RedShelf tutorial from the SPC Bookstore. 

Cengage
Cengage is offering free online access to most of their textbooks. 

Ohio State University Press 
Ohio State University Press is offering free online access to Language Files: Materials for an Introduction to Language and Linguistics and several other textbooks

Duke University Press
Duke University Press is providing 90 days of complimentary electronic access to course materials. Contact orders@dukeupress.edu.

During the closure, the Library is not able to check-out library reserves.
